Modernization and reinforcement of equipment at the Port of Cotonou: The 2nd tug, BIO GUERRA, has arrived

The project of modernization and reinforcement of the equipment of the Port of Cotonou launched some time ago continues with the delivery of a second new generation tugboat.

Named BIO GUERRA, after a Wassangari warrior prince from the North of Benin, it has a more powerful and resistant ASD engine than usual, with a capacity of 85 tons bollard pull. The Port of Cotonou has once again a robust tugboat, since this Monday, September 20, 2021.

The BIO GUERRA thus completes the duo it forms with the AMAZONE, delivered last July.

This acquisition is part of project N°1 of the new master plan of the Cotonou Port Authority, which aims at the construction of the new terminal (T5) and the improvement of the nautical access.

It announces, without any doubt, better prospects for the Port of Cotonou, to offer a better quality of services to its customers and partners.
