Signing of a new framework partnership agreement between the Port Autonome de Kribi (PAK) and the Port Autonome de Douala (PAD)

On Thursday 27 July 2023, the Port Autonome de Kribi (PAK) and the Port Autonome de Douala (PAD) signed a framework partnership agreement, renewing the one signed in 2017.

Patrice Melom, Managing Director of PAK, and Cyrus Ngo’o, Managing Director of PAD, officially ratified the documents aimed at strengthening the competitiveness, collaboration and complementarity of the two Cameroonian ports. The aim is for these two public entities, PAK and PAD, to work hand in hand, without any form of unnecessary competition, to promote the development of maritime transport in Cameroon and the region.

The main provisions of the agreement include

  • Coordination for the implementation of the project to set up a maritime feedering line between Kribi and Douala.
  • Coordination with a view to participating jointly in promotional and institutional events, or even organising them jointly.
  • Coordinating the implementation of recommendations arising from strategic documents.
  • Coordination to consider measures to facilitate trade.
  • etc.
