Suez Canal Authority company launches, repairs 10 aluminum boats
The Port Said for Engineering Works and Naval Constructions Co., a subsidiary of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), has launched five “Bahhar” aluminum boats as part of the authority’s strategy to modernize its maritime and in implementation of the Egyptian state’s plan to localize marine industries and support the capabilities and capacities of the authority’s companies and shipyards.
Each boat measures 15.3 meters in length and 4.7 meters in width. It can reach a speed of 18 knots, with a maximum speed of 21 knots. Designed for offshore operations up to 150 nautical miles, the boat boasts exceptional maneuverability and stability at high speeds, and aquick-response rescue platform enhances its emergency capabilities.
This development is part of a contract awarded to the Port Said Company for Engineering and Marine Construction to build 27 “Bahar” class launches for the Suez Canal Authority and the Suez Canal Company for Mooring and Lights.
