The United Kingdom and Tunisia have recently signed a memorandum of understanding on maritime security.

This memorandum of understanding was signed in early December by the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports (OMMP) of Tunisia and the British Ministry of Transport, represented respectively by Mr. Foued Othman, CEO of OMMP and Mr. John Connell, Department of Transport.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of safety and security of commercial ports, to exchange experiences and support the establishment of a center of excellence for training in port security in Tunisia.
