The United States of America delivers three “Cyclone-class” patrol boats to Egypt

The Egyptian Navy received (3) Cyclone-class patrol boats from the US Navy. Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces, and Lieutenant General Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of US Naval Forces Central Command, the US Fifth Fleet, signed the official handover and take over document. This was followed by the hoisting of the Egyptian flag on the patrol boats, marking their entry into service with the Egyptian Navy, which has recently witnessed a huge technological boom in armament systems and combat efficiency in line with the latest international systems.

The Cyclone-class patrol boats are among the most advanced units in the US Navy, as they are a new addition to our naval forces.

Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Naval Forces, delivered a speech, during which he conveyed the greetings of General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, to attendees from both the Egyptian and American sides, pointing to the keenness of the Armed Forces to support the capabilities of the Egyptian naval fleet in order to enhance security and stability in the Naval Forces areas of operation, and explaining That taking over these boats confirms the relations of cooperation and strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States of America. The ceremony concluded with the exchange of plaques and souvenirs.

The ceremony was attended by a number of leaders of the Egyptian and American naval forces and the acting US ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
