U.S. Coast Guard and NIMASA Assess ISPS Compliance at Lekki Deep Sea Port

On the 20th of March, 2025, Lekki Deep Sea Port welcomed a high-level delegation from the U.S. Coast Guard and the NIMASA ISPS Compliance Team for a critical assessment of its facility’s compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

This visit is part of the ongoing collaboration between NIMASA and the U.S. Coast Guard to align Nigerian ports with global best practices in maritime security.

A key objective of this partnership is to remove Nigerian ports from the list of countries under heightened scrutiny and tariff restrictions when trading with the United States.

Lekki Deep Sea Port demonstrated exceptional compliance with the ISPS Code standards—reflecting its strong commitment to port facility security and operational excellence.

This success was made possible through the collaborative efforts of its Security Team, the Lekki Freeport Terminal Security Team, and its partners in law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
