CÔTE D’IVOIRE TERMINAL (CIT) TAKES DELIVERY OF 6 RTGs FOR THE SECOND CONTAINER TERMINAL (TC2) IN THE PORT OF ABIDJAN
On Saturday 23 April 2022, the quays of the new container terminal of Abidjan (TC2) received the ship ZHEN HUA 24, flying Hong Kong flag, loaded with six (6) Rubber Tired Gantry cranes (RTG).
This first reception, which is part of the development of the superstructures of TC2, will be followed according to Mr. Koen DE BACKKER, General Manager of Côte d’Ivoire Terminal (CIT), by two others, on 10 and 17 August 2022. These vessels will carry 7 new RTGs and six (6) large quay gantries.
All handling equipment including the 36 tractors ordered in 2020 will be powered by electricity, and it is planned to implement digital solutions to dematerialize all processes on this terminal which is intended to be ultra-modern.
At this rate, the second container terminal of the port of Abidjan will be delivered on November 1, 2022, confirms with certainty Mr. DE BACKKER.
