Egypt – Alexandria Port Sets Record Performance in FY 2025/2026
Egypt’s Alexandria Port recorded its strongest performance on record in FY 2025/2026, handling more than 82 million tons of cargo—up 10% from 74.8 million tons the previous fiscal year.
Key highlights:
- 2.6 million TEUs handled, up 13% year on year.
- Cruise ship calls surged 54%, the highest growth among all vessel categories.
- Ferry traffic increased 25.7%.
- Dry bulk vessel calls rose 21.5% to 1,605, an increase of 284 vessels.
- Liquid bulk vessel calls climbed 11.8%.
- Container vessel calls reached 2,418, up 6.5%.
- Maritime tourism grew by more than 70%, welcoming over 82,000 cruise passengers.
Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir said the record performance reflects continued investments in port infrastructure, operational efficiency, and logistics services.
