Fight against maritime piracy: Reception of a patrol vessel by the President of Gabon
On Friday, 11 June 2021, the President of the Republic of Gabon, H.E. Ali Bongo Ondimba received at the New International Port of Owendo a patrol vessel of type P200, offered by the People’s Republic of China.
Christened VAE MBINI Jean Léonard by the President of the Republic, this naval vessel will make it possible to fight more effectively against acts of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea as well as IUU fishing on the Gabonese coasts.
The 66-metre-long Patrol vessel VAE MBINI Jean Léonard has a capacity of 21 crew members and 1,500 nautical sailors in economic speed.
