Gabon: Launch of the National Port Community
On Thursday, 12 January 2023, the official launch of the National Port Community, made up of full members and associate members, was held at the headquarters of the Office des Ports et Rades du Gabon (OPRAG) in Owendo.
After the adoption and signature of the regulatory texts (Statutes and Internal Rules) concerning the creation of the platform called “Gabon Port Synergy”, the Director General of OPRAG, Mr. Godwin ALINI YANDJANGOYE in his capacity as head of the National Port Authority and President of the aforementioned institution proceeded to the installation of the members of the executive board composed of full members only:
- Vice-Chairman 1, from the private sector: Union of Stevedores;
- Vice-President 2, from the public sector: Directorate of Customs and Excise;
- Secretary, assistant to the President: Legal Advisor Port Authority.
It should be noted that the said Community aims at federating all its members by setting up and animating a framework for consultation and exchanges within the port centres throughout the national territory.
